Welcome to our community! This group began more than six years ago when Cheryl and Max began teaching Rock Steady Boxing classes for people with Parkinson's. One thing we noticed consistently was that the Community (with a capital "C"!), not the exercise, was the biggest draw. Our five-minute breaks turned into ten, twelve minutes, and then class members started forming their own groups, going out to lunch, dinner, talking in the parking lot after class. When the pandemic physically separated us, we felt a great loss of that community and sought a new way to connect our members.
Thus, this online community was born. Members of our gym who have Parkinson’s are experiencing different stages of their disease, but they have many things in common -- they want to connect with each other, they want to have fun, and they want to work on fighting their disease together.
Our classes opened our eyes to the benefits of an uplifting, fun, and positive community. We didn’t want to limit it to the people we could reach locally. We know there are many people who can’t attend our classes, and we want to reach you too. |

Patricia is the kindest, gentlest spirit. Learn about how her Parkinson's diagnosis changed her life, helping her become the strongest and happiest version of herself. She was so grateful for the help she was given by members of this community that she trained to become an assistant coach, and now helps others with Parkinson's via our classes.
